Call Centre Technology Conference and Exhibition 16 Aug '10 (4:25 pm)
Trade Conferences International (TCI) will be hosting a Call Centre Technology Conference and Exhibition for all call centre industry role players on 20 and 21 October 2010 at Indaba Hotel, Johannesburg. It is the only technology-centred conference and exhibition for call centres.

“So often we look at the human resources aspect of running efficient call centres, neglecting how big a role technology plays,” says Ryno van Ellewee, Managing Director of TCI. The event will address technological issues impacting on call centres such as shared service, hosting, cloud computing, computer telephony integration and many other aspects.

The conference presents a top-class panel of speakers who will address pertinent technology aspects and issues influencing call centre operations and processes. Speaker companies include Nashua Communications, Intelleca, Ocular Technologies, Aegis, Spescom Datafusion, 1 Stream and ten other top professional call centre service provider companies.

“No call centre can afford to lag behind the convergence movement which integrates different vehicles of transmitting and receiving of information,” says Mandisa Khwatsha, Conference Coordinator at TCI. Technology plays a central role in transforming telecommunication for customer service purposes, the very essence of call centre’s business. Not only does the conference focus on technology but moreover, it encapsulates key aspects such as people, processes and technology into the mix. A lot of effort has gone into ensuring a “perfectly-fitted” programme for call centres

The exhibition will be hosted adjacent to the conference. Exhibitors will have an opportunity to showcase their products to a direct and niche market.

Micro Finance Feedback 15 Jun '10 (9:41 am)
The Micro Finance feedback

The 5th Biennial Micro Finance South Africa Summit has proven to be yet another successful event hosted by Trade Conferences International.

As expected most delegates (42%) represented micro lenders, while nearly 24% were service providers. Less people from banks attended this year.

Despite the lower numbers of previous events, the conference turned out to be a success. To still attract nearly 100 delegates despite the present economic climate was no mean feat.

Ryno van Ellewee, MD said TCI team appreciates all the responses from the questionnaires and participation at this event. Most of the people indicated Susie Lonie as their favourite speaker and the best topics was fairly distributed amongst the mobile technology case studies.

“We value the positive responses and encouraging messages you wrote on the questionnaire. We take the evaluation questionnaires very seriously and try to meet our delegates’ demands and take up their suggestions in order to better our service.”

Of the delegates who filled in the questionnaire, more than 90% indicated that the conference was worth attending and that it was professionally organised. The topics on M-Pesa, loan management, payment systems and CRM were the most popular topics. Credit management and loan management were indicated as possible future conferences.

Mr van Ellewee said most of the delegates indicated that they would be interested on attending conferences such as: credit management, loan management, compliance and regulation. TCI producers have started planning to do a conference on credit management before the end of the year.

“One of the big challenges is finding ways to keep our attendance fees below R4 500 per person as we feel that we will attract more people in this way. (The cost of the first event in 2002 was R3 500!!!)”

The event is biennial, meaning it will only be hosted in two years time but there will be other finance related events. TCI staff is looking forward to seeing all the delegates at other finance related events, hopefully soon.

Analysing the questionnaires always forms an important part of looking at where the company is right and where improvements can be made. Should you wish to mention anything you would like to bring to our attention please send us an email on info@tci-sa.co.za
