Background

Health technologies are innovative technologies used in preventing, diagnosing and treatment of diseases.
Others have defined health technologies as "curative devices used in medical care and the organizational and support systems with which such care is
provided." The definition includes therapeutic, diagnostic and screening procedures and equipment.
Advanced developments in healthcare technology are of major benefits to the health sector. These innovative technologies form an indispensable part of the
health system aiding in improving the quality of lives of patients through early diagnosis, less evasive treatment and reduction of stay in hospitals
thereby making the work of health professionals much easier.
Emerging technology and its role in healthcare will be main focus of the Health Technology Conference to be hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre on 18
& 19 February 2010.
The conference will not only allow you networking time with fellow health professionals, but will also expand your contact to key technical personnel who
have an interest in technology developments from private and public clinics, hospitals, research centre, service providers and relevant government
departments.
TCI has over the past seven years organised more than 20 health related events in fields of nursing, primary health care, disease management, e-health and
others.
We invite you to attend this conference to listen to expert presentations from our panel of speakers sharing knowledge on the different technologies
being used in healthcare and some interesting case studies.
